A breast lift is a surgical procedure designed to reshape and rejuvenate the breasts and give them a firmer, younger-looking appearance.

In this procedure, an incision is made around the areola with or without a midline vertical incision to the crease. Excess skin is removed from the lower part of the breast, and the nipple, areola, and underlying breast tissue are pulled up and relocated to a new, higher position. Incisions are closed with buried sutures that need not be removed.

The procedure lasts for about two hours, after which dressing and a surgical bra is applied.

Swelling and bruising usually subsides within a few days, and most post-operative discomforts are controlled with prescribed medication. It is observed that most patients go back to work within one week of the procedure. It is common for patients to experience a temporary loss of sensation in the breast region, which improves with time.

Although the incision sites may always remain visible to some degree, patients who choose to have this procedure are very happy with their firmer, younger looking appearance.

New Technique – At Coconna we specialize in a new technique of breast lift in which an incision is made around the areolar and the breast is lifted and contoured from under the skin flap. In this procedure no extensions are made into the breasts themselves. Breast lifts performed through this technique take a few months to heal – basically it takes time for overlying skin to redrape on the new mound; however, this procedure is quicker to perform and leaves fewer scars.
